Who I am:
Prof. Dr. Geerten M.M. Michielse (1960) is Professor in Tax Law and Director of the Center for
Taxation and Public Governance at the Utrecht School of Law, University Utrecht in The
Netherlands. Furthermore, he is consultant for the International Monetary Fund and the World
Bank (IFC) in Washington DC
Prof. Dr. Geerten M.M. Michielse (1960) is Professor in Tax Law and Director of the Center for

What I do:
Prof. Michielse teaches courses on Introduction to Dutch Tax Law (bachelor level), on
Comparative Tax Law (master level), and on Legal Tax Drafting in the Postgraduate Tax
Governance Program. Furthermore, he advises foreign governments on tax policy, tax
administration, and tax reforms.
